Realism of Katherine Mansfield in her works is singular and outstanding in English Literature. And her realism is such that is familiar to the Japanese. So the author tried to put some parts of her work into Japanese tannka and found that her realism has some analogy with that of tannka. It led to a conclusion that whether one lives in Western culture or in Eastern one, a natural environment in which one lives is likely to affect one’s way of thinking, and people who live in similar natural environment are likely to have similar ways of thinking including self-recognition.
