本学基礎教育課程において、住民や患者の立場に立った健康教育あるいは患者教育が行える基礎的能力の育成を目的として糖尿病食事療法の体験学習を行った。学生のレポート内容から学習内容を検討した結果、患者への共感、食事療法の肯定的理解、普段の食事の見直し、食事療法におkる工夫や提案の創造という面で体験学習の意味を見いだした。今後は、レポート課題の出し方や体験学習後にグループ討議を行うなどの工夫が必要であると考えた。また、実習と関連させてその効果を検証していくことも必要である。
