褥瘡教育の普及・浸透については、多くの指摘があ。本論では、山口県における全数調査の結果から明らかにした「褥瘡教育普及の課題」(１９９６年実施）が、どのように推移しているかを追跡調査（２０００年実施）し縦断的評価を行った。その結果、４年という時間が経過した中にあっても、山口県の褥瘡教育の普及・浸透に関しては、科学的な根拠に基ずく実践の欠如や褥瘡予防ケアへの関心の欠如など、同様な課題を持ち続けていた。こうした問題が解決されるような学習基盤の整備とともに、効果的な教育プログラムの開発が示唆された。
