TOEIC Test has been playing a very important role in the evaluation of the English teaching in universities and colleges in Japan, and it has also become a very important tool for the evaluation in the various workplaces in order to choose graduates in their job application and decide employees’ promotion. A certain target score in TOEIC test has already become a criterion of JABEE ( Japan Accreditation for Engineering Education). In order to encourage our students to try to reach the target (400 in this college), we opened an English Seminar as one of elective subjects for the 4th and 5th year students. We would like to introduce how we are trying to persuade our students to strive to reach the goal in the seminar. We would also like to analyze the result of the actual TOEIC IP test and the practice for TOEIC test in the seminar.
