We are trying to use electric double layer capacitor as the robots'power supply, to do the robot contest with the condition that electric quantity is almost constant. Developnent of a quick charger for electric double layer capacitor becomes a necessity to charge some capacitors in a short time before every game of robot contest. The quick charger that we developed this time charges a capacitor from a power supply device, monitoring the voltage of a capacitor to do not exceed the rating voltage usine the PIC microcontroller equipped with A/D transformation. Charging situation is displayed in LCD and charging is completed in about 20 seconds. Average of charging current is 10[A] and a contest robot can be driven about one minute with one time charging.
