This paper is part of the study “Discourse Under Crisis.”
In the context of this study, “Discourse Under Crisis” refers to verse or prose produced or utterances spoken under situations of crisis. The subject of discourse, that is, the authors of the prose or verse or the speakers, cannot avoid these situations, not being afforded the option to refuse．
This paper explorers utterances of Confucius and his disciples, utterances of intellectuals in the Hanfeizi 韓非子, songs in the Chuci 楚辭, and pre-Qin 先秦 songs besides those of the Shijing 詩經 and Chuci 楚辭．
