The importance of teaching practice in TJFL courses is increasingly stressed. During the teaching practice we find several problems among trainees. However, we also have found that they have an amazing capacity to make good use of video. They are familiar not only with video but also with the pop culture. When those two are combined, new possibilities emerge. For example, self-made video teaching materials streghthen the motivation of the learners. Good use of video offers the opportunity to learn the culture and its sociolinguistic aspects. It gives birth to a new resource that goes beyond the limits of the classroom. This research found that the trainees used video to show appropriate usage of the language patterns in situations after the introduction of a new pattern and pattern practice. That is, the stage or timing of the video presentation depends on the teaching method used. These findings suggest that we should make a systematic syllabus of video teaching materials based on each of the teaching methods presenting various aspects of culture and sociolinguistic functions.
