言語教育職養成の目的では余分が多いと思える国際文化学科のカリキュラムの強みは、教職の科目と教職外の科目間の連携（ユニット）を実現し、ことばの教育にあわせ、そのことばで生活している人たちの暮らしを伝える言語教育職を育成する点にある。本研究では、教育学部ではない組織で教員養成に取り組む意義を見直し、これからの言語教育職養成の方向を探究することを目的とする。具体的には、英語と日本語の言語教育職人材育成に関する現状と、それぞれの教員に求められる資質・能力観について概観する。また、本学科における言語教育職養成課程の現状と今後の課題を述べる。そして、将来教職を目指す在学生が本学科の人材育成の利点を最大限に活かすための言語教育職養成課程のあり方ついて検討する。さらに、本学科教育と言語教育職の円滑な接続に繋がる学びの形成のためのYPU言語教育職養成課程ガイド＆ポートフォリオ「英語と日本語教員のためのキャリアパス（仮）」の試作案について紹介する。

Thanks to the majority of classes that do not focus on language, the Department of Inter-cultural Studies curriculum lends itself well to language education training by being able to combine language and education classes and promote the study of not only language but cultural backgrounds and understanding. This article re-examines the role of teacher training in a department other than faculty of education, and explores the department’s future direction of language education training. Specifically, it gives an overview of the current state of English and Japanese language teacher training and the required skills and qualifications that students must satisfy. It also discusses the current state of the language education training curriculum and the upcoming challenges. Furthermore, it considers how to reform the language education training curriculum in order to best maximize the academic and professional benefits for students in the Department of Intercultural Studies who seek to become teachers. Lastly, for the purpose of linking language education training with the broader department curriculum, it proposes the use of a language education training course guidebook-portfolio tentatively called “Career Path for English and Japanese Teachers.”
