This article is an addendum to my articles “A Study of Li Qi's Poems Representing High Tang Literati (part 1~4).”This paper aims to investigate the reason why Li Qi 李頎’s poems representing High Tang Literati are so interesting. It considers the idea that the interest can be attributed to the contiguity of the relationship between the primary text and the secondary text. In this case, the primary text refers to the literati living at that time who are represented in Li Qi’s poem, and the secondary text refers to Li Qi’s poems, which represent the literati. In addition, it is important to note that the secondary text (Li Qi’s poems) is verbalized in contiguity with the primary text (the literati). This explanation may be difficult to understand, but an example can make it clear. Cheng Zhangfu 陳章甫 is a High Tang literatus about whom Li Qi and Gao Shi 高適 composed poems. In these poems, they described Cheng’s erudition (Gao Shi composed “有時生才傑, and Li Qi composed “腹中貯書一萬卷”). Gao Shi's representation is comparatively abstract
