Concerning Roren, we made a consideration of the following points of the plan, formation and development : 1) There is some possibility that the plot of Roren was affected by the tale of Kuran-nyo whose husband had no sooner dissuaded her from becoming a priestess than she returned to the secular life. 2) Roren came into existence earlier than Shujo (the plot of Shujo is similar to that of Roren). 3) The sermon which the leading role of Roren preaches was enlarged since the early years of Edo period.
