この研究の目的は、地方都市在住の独居後期高齢者5ケースについてのインタビュウ内容のうち、主として、独居後期高齢期の楽しみや生きがいについて報告することである。研究方法は、ライフコースアプローチを採用している。研究結果は、(1)社会参加と自立という概念を用いた分析では、高齢者の心の実態を十分に把握できない。(2)高齢者の生活の質 (quality of life) を問うには、「社会参加」と「自立」の概念を広義に再定義し、実態を分析する必要がある。(3)独居後期高齢者5ケースに限っていえば、高齢(以下、略)
