本研究は、学齢期の子どもを持つ母親を対象とし、フォーカスグループインタビュー法を用いて子どもの成長とともに変化する育児の内容と母親が希望する育児支援のあり方を明らかにすることを目的とした。 母親が子どもに対して否定的な感情を持つ要因として、新生児期から就学期までは子どもの数や子どもとの相性が重要であると思われたが、子どもが学齢期になり母親が子どもと意志疎通可能になると、単なる子どもとの性格の不一致といった母親の主観に基づく認識のみで子どもに対する否定的な感情は芽生えにくくなることが推察された。
