The foreign language program at Yamaguchi Prefectural University has put emphasis on developing students’ “Four-Skills + α” in foreign languages. It means acquiring not only four skills, speaking, listening, writing and reading, but also communication skills including presentation skills as “+a”. In addition to “Four-Skills + α”, the students’ learning autonomy and independent study are considered as an important factor for the language learning. In order to promote students’ learning autonomy, the foreign language program has developed two types of learning support programs
