｢ウオーム・リバー｣はアースキン・コールドウェルが1932年に発表した短編小説である。この作品では、山国の恋人を訪ねる若者リチャードのわずか半日の体験が一人称で語られる。作品のタイトルともなっているウオーム・リバーそのものが、またその川を渡ることがこの作品においていかなる意味を持ちうるのかを探ってみたい。
