Research into the development of maternity wear business suits

The popularization of higher education for women have brought about an expansion in the ages at which women commonly give birth. In addition to this, although women are more active in society and the number of women in employment is increasing, on the other hand, work arrangements are becoming more varied, and working mothers encounter a wide variety of circumstances. Because of this, there has also been a change in consciousness regarding maternity wear and indeed to the values connected with it. The authors developed a maternity wear suit based on the assumption that it could be worn in a business setting. The prototype was produced in a sewing factory incorporating revisions made to the original design. In this paper we propose to look at the design requirements for maternity wear business suits by the application of the service design method.
