Recently there are a growing number of students who show no interest in the manufacturing side of business and are reluctant to explore it as a business opportunity. But for the fostering of technical experts who fulfill companies’ demands, education of manufacturing is essential and indispensable. Moreover, the level of technology, which is required for technical staff, continues to increase year by year. So a self-directed activity is essential to acquire ever developing techniques in order to properly implement an adequate manufacturing education. This paper reports on a project of the demonstration and the manufacturing of a miniature cup-and-ball toy using the CNC lathe.
