spelling of the word “children” in Japanese educational administration field of education
It is free to choose the form “子供” or “子ども” to write the word “children” in Japanese as ndividuals. It is, however, a fundamental rule to select the form “子供” in the educational administration and the field of education according to the current mother-language policy in Japan. Nevertheless, many people who work at those fields in fact choose the form “子 ども”. In this paper, I will focus on the spelling of the word “children” in Japanese in the educational administration and the field of education and argue how it should be.
