Recently, a distance of an arbitrary two points of a map image on web sites is easily measured. The distance is obtained by adding up a size of each segment which consists of two points generated for a mouse to be clicked, in general. However, in this approach, it is difficult to accurately measure its distance. In this paper, we propose a method of a distance measurement by image processing techniques. From the experimental results, we have verified the effectiveness of the proposed method.
