避妊行動の背景にある避妊に対する意識とイメージを明らかにし、男女で避妊に対する意識やイメージがどのように偏っているかを比較検討することを目的とした。対象は、成人期男女で避妊のイメージ20項目を作成し質問紙法による調査を実施した。対象は県内の成人期男女376名で、156名の男女から回答があった（有功回答152名、回収率41.5%）。避妊方法は「コンドーム法(男性）」が7割と最も多かった。避妊方法選択の合意については、8割が「納得している」と回答していた。避妊方法や避妊方法選択について男女差はなかった。
