本研究創作は、山口県萩市の工芸品である｢萩ガラス｣から作られた日本酒用の冷酒器セット(片口と盃)である。萩ガラスは幕末に途絶えたガラス工芸であったが、1992年に復興されている。原材料には地元である萩市笠山の原石を使用しており、純日本産の材料にこだわって作られているハンドメイドのガラスである。海外への販売も意識して、輸送費削減のために省スペースに収納できるデザインを施した。2016年度The Wonder 500にも選定されている。
This design work is a set of cold sake vessels(katakuchi and sakazuki) made from “Hagi glass” that is a craft in Hagi city in Yamaguchi Prefecture. The Hagi glass, the craft that discontinued at the end of Edo Period, has been revitalized in 1992. The glass is a hand-made craft produced persistently with purely Japanese materials like the ore produced from Mt. Kasayama in Hagi City. It is also designed to be packed compact to save the transportation cost as well, so it is practical for export as well. They were also selected in The Wonder 500 in 2016.
