This paper presents our efforts to make the lecture content of a major course subject at a national technical college an experimental and intuitive lecture for junior high school students. Specifically, it aims to demonstrate the ingenuity of the reformulated subject material that enables junior high school students to easily understand concepts such as ship's buoyancy and stability, which are lecture topics pertaining to naval architecture and shipping technology. The specifications regarding the formulation of the hands-on lecture program are first described. The models that have been created for demonstration and the material of the lecture program, which has thus far been utilized for joint college guidance, are then introduced. Finally, the results of this approach are discussed. Considering all these factors, the new hands-on lecture program is found to be useful for teaching the principles of ship's buoyancy and stability to junior high school students.
