In Japan, fisheries cooperative associations have been reorganized by mergers and business integration since the 1990's in order to keep pace with changes of the management caused by declining of fishing industries, long-term deflation and the financial reforms called the “Big Bang”. In this report, I will examine the current state of Japanese fisheries cooperative associations and their problems.
