This article examines the double-edged sword of the large English loanword lexicon in the Japanese language，in particular the problems it creates for Japanese learners，and possible causes of those problems. It describes one instructor's method of dealing with this issue in theclassroom, justification for that method observations and insights，and student-reported data regarding the project.
